The 3.5V convertible handle uses either rechargeable nickel cadmium batteries or C-cell batteries. Even if you've forgotten to recharge your battery or are practicing somewhere without available electricity, remove the transformer module, insert two C-cell batteries and converter ring (included), and continue your diagnostic exams.
For recharging, the convenient built-in charger allows you to plug into any conventional 110V wall outlet for overnight recharging.
